Beginning at Angling Destinations' headquarters in downtown Sheridan, Wyoming, Mike Schwartz and I took three days to circumnavigate the Bighorn Mountains. We stopped along the way to fish on the east side of the range, then motored over Powder River Pass to fish on the west side. On our last day, we drove over Granite Pass and fished in the mountains. Along the way, we caught rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. Here is a photo essay of our trip:

We started on a prairie stream...

Mike with a beautiful fat brown!

Now off to the west side...

Eventually we arrived at a red rock spring creek...

And this is why big beetles were working!

This 21" almost 22" bruiser made my day.
We camped in the mountains that night.
And we were greeted by a mountain bluebird when we arrived at the river.

We saw 4 moose, some a bit too close for comfort.
A few 'bows were caught along with the abundant cutthroats.
This young male was unimpressed with our casting style.
Another fine cutthroat to end the day.

Thanks for a great trip Mike!! Each day was very different and absolutely spectacular!

I can't wait to do a circuit like this again soon.
