For over twenty years, Alaska West has been operating on the banks of the Kanektok River, just six miles inland from the Bering Sea on the far coast of Western Alaska. With two anglers per guide fishing out of 18 foot river sleds, you can target all five species of Pacific Salmon, rainbow trout, dolly varden and grayling. The lodging at Alaska West is considered to be a "deluxe tent lodge". Guests sleep in heated tents with carpeted wood floors. Showers and sinks are provieded with hot and cold water, and outhouse facilities are cleaned and managed daily. The dining and lounge tents are great places to unwind, share fantastic food, and enjoy drinks all after fishing one of the most productive fisheries in the world.
Alaska West caters to all levels of angler with guests ranging from first time anglers to experienced world travelers. If you're caught in a pinch and need to borrow something, Alaska West offers a wide variety of loaner gear including rods, reels, waders, and lines.
Getting to Alaska West involves flying to Anchorage, staying overnight and then taking a series of smaller flights between Anchorage and the Yupik Village of Quinhagak. The lodge will help arrange these smaller flights for you and your group.
