The Royal Coachman Lodge sits on the banks of the beautiful Nuyakuk River in the middle of the Wood-Tikchik State Park and is adjacent to the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge. Both the Park and the Refuge provide exceptional fishing for our guests, but also offer some of the largest and most diverse wildlife and birdlife populations in Alaska. These resources inhabit a beautiful landscapes that, due to the hard work of federal and state officials, native corporations, and conscientious sport fishing operators, is still very pristine. Wood-Tikchik is the largest state park in the nation with 1.6 million acres of land. Bordering to the west, Togiak National Wildlife Refuge encompasses about 4.7 millon acres. Of that acreage, 4.1 million acres are federal land located between the Kuskokwim Bay and Bristol Bay. During your week, you will fish waters in the Park, the Refuge, and a variety of other rivers throughout southwestern Alaska.
Primarily a fly out lodge, the Royal Coachman is quite simply whatever you want it to be. Guests fish a variety of waters from very small streams to large rivers, lakes, and the thoroughfares that connect them. You can catch all five Salmon species, trophy Rainbow Trout, Char, Dolly Varden, massive Pike, Grayling, and even Sheefish are available. With a plethora of boats scattered throughout the region, and because of the variety of waters, private leases, and exclusive use permits held by the Royal Coachman Lodge, you can be assured to have the best possible fishing every day. While this 10 guest lodge is a spot for the dedicated angler, wonderful meals and accommodations insure no amenities are overlooked.
